Description
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Planning is a written, self-paced course in six modules. You cover RTO, RPO and SLA-driven recovery planning; full, incremental, differential and immutable backups; active-passive and active-active failover; cloud-based DR with services such as AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery and Azure Site Recovery; tabletop exercises and DR testing; and an overview of ISO 22301 and NIST SP 800-34.
It is an educational course, not a certification, audit or compliance service, and completing it does not make your organisation compliant with any standard. It cannot guarantee that a plan will work in a real disaster; only regular testing shows that. Cloud service features change, so check current provider documentation.
What you will be able to do
- Run a simple business impact analysis and set RTO and RPO targets
- Design a backup strategy that includes immutable or offline copies
- Choose between active-passive and active-active failover for a system
- Outline a cloud-based DR approach for a key workload
- Plan and run a tabletop exercise and a DR test
