Four cards: strengths inventory, precisely named blocks, sorting blocks into three bins, and a three-sentence baseline statement.

Every creative reboot starts with an honest baseline. Today you assess your creative strengths and blocks — what you make easily, what you avoid, and what actually stops you — so the next six days target your real obstacles instead of imaginary ones.

Inventory Your Strengths

List every creative thing you have made or enjoyed making, going back years: writing, drawing, music, cooking, code, photography, decks, playlists, jokes. Beside each, note what part felt effortless — generating ideas, refining details, combining influences, performing, finishing. Patterns emerge quickly. Most people discover they are strong in one or two phases of the creative process and have been judging themselves against the phases they are weakest in.

Name Your Blocks Precisely

Vague blocks are unbeatable; specific ones are solvable. For each stalled or abandoned project, write down where exactly it stopped and what you told yourself at that moment. Common patterns: perfectionism at the start, comparison mid-way, fear of sharing at the end, or no protected time anywhere. Sort your blocks into three bins — skill gaps, fear-based blocks, and logistics — because each bin needs a different fix.

Write the Baseline Statement

Summarize the audit in three sentences: what you are strong at, what most often stops you, and what you want to be true of your creative life in thirty days. This statement is your before photo.

Action Step

Complete the full audit in writing: the strengths inventory, at least three precisely named blocks sorted into their bins, and your three-sentence baseline statement. Keep it visible — Day 7 will measure the week against it.
