Direction and Positioning

Starting With Clarity

A calm, well-run creative business begins with clarity about what you want to build and why. Without a clear direction, it is easy to say yes to every opportunity, spread yourself thin and feel busy without making progress. This module helps you define the direction that will guide every later decision in the program.

Define Your Business Vision

Describe what you want your business to look like in three years: the work you do, who you serve, how many hours you work and how it feels day to day. A vivid picture makes priorities easier to set.

Clarify Your Non-Negotiables

Write down the things that matter most to you, such as time for your own creative practice, a sustainable schedule or working with certain kinds of clients. Non-negotiables protect your vision as the business grows.

Assess Where You Are Now

Honestly note your current offers, audience, systems and finances. Comparing where you are with where you want to be shows the gaps this program will help you close.

Practice

Write a one-page business vision, list five non-negotiables and complete a short current-state assessment covering offers, audience, systems and money.

Key Takeaways

The three ideas to carry forward from this lesson are: define your business vision, clarify your non-negotiables, and assess where you are now. You do not need to master all of them at once. Pick the one that feels most relevant to your situation right now and apply it before the next lesson.

Quick Reflection

Ask yourself where the ideas in Starting With Clarity already show up in your own work, and where they are missing. Write down one example of each. Naming a real example makes the lesson concrete and shows you exactly where to apply it first.

How This Connects

This lesson is part of the Direction and Positioning module. The next lesson, Choosing Who You Serve, builds directly on what you have just practised, so keep your notes from this exercise close by. If something here felt unclear, re-read the section that tripped you up before moving forward rather than pushing on.

Before You Move On

Before you move on, write two or three lines in your notes: what you tried, what felt awkward and what you would repeat. Those short notes turn Zen Business Accelerator from something you read into something you practise, and they give you a record to compare against when you reach the final module.
